Our urban gardening initiative focuses on providing healthy food in food deserts by allowing members of communities to work together to grow their own fruits and vegetables. The program while providing nutritional substance also helps the individuals in several other ways.
In 2018 we are committed to launching 29 more community gardens in neighborhoods around the city of Baton Rouge, and giving 300 residents the knowledge and tools to begin growing at home. It doesn’t matter if you have acres of lands or live in an apartment, you can become part of a family of urban growers that will help solve hunger problems throughout the city (and further).
